How to install Magento 2 Modules in your store?

The modularity of Magento  always was the main reason for its success. Being able to install and update Magento 2 Modules on the fly changing the structure of your online store is also an essential part of Magento 2.

Installing Magento 2 Extensions using Web Setup Wizard Please see below steps:

Step 1: Login to the Magento 2 Admin Panel

Step 2: Open Component Manager

Step 3:  Navigate to System -> Web Setup Wizard -> Component Manager

Step 4: In the list of components find extension you want to enable. Then press "Select" in "Actions" column and choose "Enable".

Step 5: If you see error like that, try to setup magento 2 cron job and resolve other issues

Step 6: If you haven't errors press next.

Step 7: After backup process is completed press button "Next"

Step 8: Now you are ready to final enable EXTENSION.IT takes some time. Please do not refresh page.

However,  if you got only zip-file with modules, and want to install it to your store, without using Magento Connect manager?

To install the modules we should copy its code to the Magento directory. Basically the “install” folder content should be copied to the app/code/  directory.

After that we can use 2 different methods to initialize  to the module in a store.


 

#Method 2

This method requires Cron tasks setup and proper running. In case it has not performed yet - do it.

So if everything is set up correctly, just follow the path in admin panel to initialize the modules:

Here you can enable all available modules: System/ Web Setup Wizard/ Component Manager.

In case Magento is setup properly, you will see a notification that all the system run correctly.

Further, before you enable the module, the Backup creation will be proposed. And finally we will see this screen. The module has been enabled.

 

#Method 3

This method is more acceptable for website administrators and requires access to the server bash shell. Get the list of commands by running: php bin/ magento.

Starting an e-commerce website seemingly is more simple and less expensive than launching a store in real life, however, it’s still confused with people who have just known shopping online latterly. Besides, you should consider selling things that you like, or is your passion, as a big motivation insides would push you up every time while working with something make you interested.

 

2. Choose e-commerce platform to sell products

 

 

This step is quite technical. Imagine this step like you’re choosing a place to build your shop when it comes to brick and mortar store: you’ll consider so many plans, between its pros and cons. I’ll give you 3 “places” that people usually use to create their business

 Shopify: you don’t know anything about coding (and don’t want to learn), want to spend more time on other things, so just let Shopify do. It’s suitable for small businesses who are just starting out, all the way up to larger stores that are selling millions of dollars in products. This means that they have the capability to grow with your store, as your business expands. But the disadvantage is you can not customize website as thoroughly as you want.

Magento: this platform allows you participate in creating your own house, you can do anything with the website, make everything more simple, more colorful, etc. Especially, Magento also allows third party integration for various purpose like importing product etc. This brings Magento the flexibility that other platforms lack, and make a Magento-based website can be easier to be looked and analyzed performance. And Magento offer features basically the same thing that Shopify provides for a seemingly unrealistically high price. 3. Choosing domain and hosting service

If you decide to use Shopify to set up a website, then you’ll no longer worry about domain and host, as Shopify did it perfectly. But people sometimes buy another domain to make their store looks more professional and easier to remember (if you use the default domain provided by Shopify, it would be yourdomain.shopify.com – too long and not specific)

Everything seems different when talking about Magento and Woo commerce: you must buy, configure, manage domain and host by yourself, or you would hire developers who are expert in those fields. Thus you could select various hosting service with various price in order to fit nicely your present condition. If your platform is Woocommerce (in WordPress), work would be easier as Wordpress is absolutely simple to install and manage, you can find a dozen of guide about setting up WordPress platform on the internet. - Search Engine Optimization aka SEO: Because a huge amount of traffic comes from search engine (especially Google) and people tend to click in website appeared on the first page they search something., you’ll always want website to stand in highest position on Google. Do SEO in 2017 is more difficult and harder than before, so you should put effort on it to learn it carefully and creatively or hire a person who is an expert. SEO contains 2 main works:

Actually, building an e-commerce site is quite easy, you just need to choose your suitable platform then put products into your store, write a description and sell them. But the hard work still hasn’t come until you customize your site to get the desired conversion rate. It’s cost so much time and effort to analyze what is the best for your website. And today, I’ll tell you 3 important factors helping you increase conversion rate.

 

1. Show your products exactly like in real life.

 

Firstly, you must provide your customer the best pictures as much as you can. People want to see exactly things they’re going to buy. Do you want to buy a suit that only is described through ugly, gray pictures and even they’re too low-quality so you couldn’t see details? You are not, so your customer neither. Try to portray your merchandise under different angles in appropriate light, make them zoomable, etc

 

Secondly, your description must be comprehensive, long enough to cover all features but have to be short enough to keep your customer reading them. A proper description will inspire customer, make them want to buy right now. Furthermore, you can add a video in order to bring information to your customers, because the world is changing to advertise through video in 2017

 

2. Consider about shipping fee

 

An E-tailing Group study shows that free shipping is the most influence factor which encourages customers to make a purchase. In another research, 93% of respondents indicated that free shipping on orders makes them buy more products. For instance, when 2BigFeet implements free shipping campaign, their conversions went up 50%. You know, regardless of the reason, a free shipping offer that saves $5.99 could be more appealing than a discount that cuts the purchase by $10. And if you intend to decrease the shipping fee to the lowest level? Believe me, free offer works better than that thousand times.

 

3. Things to do with process checkout

 

When a customer comes to your online store, pick some products and click “Add to shopping cart”, you might think your customer will make it through the entire checkout process. No, you’ve still got work to do, otherwise, high chances are you’ll have nothing left but abandoned shopping carts. These are top reasons why your customer abandon shopping cart

- The price is higher than competitors: if your product is the same or similar to what the competitors offer, people will choose depending on the price. If your price is undoubtedly cheapest, tell them. If it’s not, you must give them added value

- You charge them shipping fee: as above, I recommend you shouldn’t

- The hassle: If in order to buy your products, the customer must fill in a dozen forms and go through a dozen pages, then no one will buy anything on your site. Try to simplify everything, collect only necessary information, don’t force customer login, etc

- Your site loading time is terrible: optimize and speed up it!

- Furthermore, make your process check out as clear as possible. You better show your customer how many steps left, they will easily figure out what are they going to do and how much time they going to cost for this process.

When you decide to create your own e-commerce website and customize them, you’ll have to implement an important step: choose a domain and hosting service for your website. Let me explain a little about domain and hosting before walking you through this step-by-step guide.

 

 

Host is a place that contains your website data as a house that contains your bed, desk, sofa etc. and domain is the address of the house, it makes people easier when they’re looking for your house. Facebook.com, wikipedia.com are domains. When people enter your domain into address bar, computers immediately go to your host and bring back computer screen things that they require. It’s exactly like your friend said to an uber drive “Can you bring me to Brent’s house, It’s Washington, DC 22202”, then he took your friend to the place where they can see your house and its furniture inside. If you're using self-hosting platform like Magento or WooCommerce, this article is for you, otherwise if you're using Shopify then you don't need read this. 1. How to choose domain

 

These are some tips and tricks helping you to choose a good domain:

- The domain should contain your brand, or your product: the shorter, the better.

- Domain should be easy to write and remember

- Avoid special letter like -, @, *

- Add location in your domain if you’re targeting specific market. For instance, DroneCalifornia.com

- Suffix: if your website doesn’t serve for special purpose, .com is the most popular suffix, less general ones are .net or .info, .edu is for education purpose and .gov is for government organization.

 

There are many domain providers in the world but I highly recommend GoDaddy and 1and1 because of their reputation. Furthermore, these two providers usually offer huge discount every few months, especially if you’re buying for the first time. Buying a domain is quite simple, I’ll show you the process of buying domain in GoDaddy.

 

Step 1: Go to godaddy.com or 1and1.com

Step 2: type your desired domain in search box, if it’s available, you’ll be moved to next page where you can choose the suffix (.com, .net or .info with other prices). After choosing suitable domain, click “Continue to Cart”

Step 3: In next page, you’ll choose other services like Creat Email or Protect Information. You should remove all of them in order to minimize unnecessary fees. Then next and Checkout

Step 4: If you’ve already had an account, just need to log in. otherwise, you’ll need to create a new account, fill your personal and payment information and Checkout. You should pay through PayPal account in order to prevent the unexpected charge via credit card.

 

2. Hosting Services

 

As above, a host is a place that contains every data of your website, so choosing a good hosting service is like choosing right land to build your house. There are 4 popular kinds of host which you can choose:

 

- Free hosting: The only advantages is zero cost. But instead, almost free hosting only provide low-quality resources, the speed is very slow and server is bad in security. Furthermore, some providers force you to put their ads on your website. You should only use this kind of service for experiment purpose.

- Shared hosting: With fee is about $2 - $12 per month, you’ll have a good shared hosting package with private control panel: Easy to use, good support, and affordable. But shared host packages usually limit resources, and security level is just medium. This kind of hosting will be compatible with medium and small website. If you’re newbie, this is the best choice for you.

- Virtual Private Server - VPS: because you're using a private server, so you won’t be affected by other websites. Thus this leads to high speed, good security and can be customized easily. But on the other hand, you’ll need medium knowledge about network management, the cost is very expensive, about $45 to $100 per month.

- Dedicated Server: this is the most quality service, it’s likely VPS, you’ll have more resources, huge data access and better security. But the price is very expensive, hard to master and you must be responsibility for your data (no backup mode unless you install it)
